ASUS Has The Worst Customer Service
December 11th, 2008 by Mark Kimitch | Posted under Computers, ASUS, Media, MicrosoftSo I just got done speaking with ASUSTech-Timothy01, and I have to say I’m a bit disappointed. Back in September I bought the ASUS My Cinema-PE9400 Combo TV Tuner card for my computer. I installed the card and all the drivers and programs and got nothing but a blank screen. I tried many different configurations, all to no avail. So I finally got an RMA number and sent it back, assuming it was defective.
Well, I got the new one yesterday, I installed the card and updated any drivers that needed to be updated, and tried it again. This time, just like last time, it “found” channels, but only displayed a blank screen.
To top it all off, when I tried contacting ASUS’ technical support and obviously exhausted all possibilities, the technical support agent just ends the chat session. They didn’t try calling me back (which they could have, because I gave them my phone number) or anything.
Below is the conversation I had:
ASUSTech-Timothy01> Thank you for contacting Asus Live Support ASUSTech-Timothy01> How can I help you Mark> A month or two ago, I bought the ASUS My Cinema PE9400 Combo card, it didn’t seem to be working, so I sent it back as an RMA and I just got the new one Mark> I’m still having the same problem, however Mark> My computer recognizes the card, it looks for channels and “finds” them, but nothing is ever displayed ASUSTech-Timothy01> what operating system are you running Mark> Windows Vista Ultimate x64 Mark> I have an ASUS P5E3 Deluxe Motherboard, 4 GB of DDR3 RAM, and an Intel Core 2 Quad EE processor ASUSTech-Timothy01> Do you have this same issue if you try to utilize the card through Microsoft Media Center? Mark> Haven’t tried that ASUSTech-Timothy01> Is there anyway you can check Mark> Yeah, I’ve launched it and am checking Mark> Yeah, it’s still not working… it says my signal strength is great, but all I get is a blank screen and the sound of static Mark> I don’t know what else I can do ASUSTech-Timothy01> one moment please The Representative has left the session |

I then tried to contact them again through their live chat option and the session ended up timing out, because I was “on hold” online for too long.
I have come to really not like Safari, perhaps even more so than Internet Explorer 7 (of course IE 6 will always have a special place in my heart of hate). Recently when attempting to implement the “
