Web Design and Development: My Passion
I originally wanted to make a really elaborate Web site to show of as my portfolio site, but then I realized my time is much better spent on the Web sites of my clients. Maybe once I have some more free time I can "spruce things up" a bit more, but for now, this should do.
I enjoy building Web sites. I enjoy learning about the many different facets of the Web design and development world. I'm kind of a stickler for well-formed code and standards compliant (or as compliant as I see necessary).
I currently have a full-time position as a Web designer and developer at metroConnections, a Minnesota-based conference services, event production and transportation and tour company. Through metroConnections, I've had the opportunity to build Web sites for Target Corporation, Helms-Briscoe, PeopleClick, Aveda Institute, and Boston Scientific, among others.
I do some freelance work in my free time, such as with the Kelly Benefit Strategies Pro Cycling team. I also do a couple "pro bono" Web sites, including the Alpha Delta Phi Fraternity, University of Minnesota Chapter and University of Minnesota Drumline Web sites, both of which are pending completion of a redesign.
